Lokoja (the failed promise Land)

The name lokoja has been an house hold name for more than a century now, it is the state capital of kogi. Considering how famous lokoja is, one would wonder why it shouldn’t be one of the most if not the most developed part of the country, Nigeria. History hold it that lokoja is the first settlement for the Europeans when they first arrived the country. The then governor general, Fredrick lugard rule the nation Nigeria from lokoja when the northern and southern protectorate was almagamated in 1914.

It served as the major means of communication and transportation especially for the river side dwellers during the colonial period.

The two notable rivers in West Africa ( the river Niger and river Benue) have their confluence there, hence the portfolio, “the confluence state”.

All these been said, we noticed lokoja to be the most promising state of the nation as of then. So what went wrong?

Oh what happened to our beloved lokoja ones mentioned in every Europeans lip.

Given the abundant natural resources in the state, one would blame the Government for their lackadaisic attitude towards the development of the state capital.

All hope not lost, given the political awareness currently in the state, one will wish for a better future.

#Sooner or later, we hope for lokoja reborn#.

Thuggery in kogi state; part 2

One would want to put all the blames on the state governor (kogi state) without noticing the fact there are youth out there ready to pick up arms for God knows why

In this modern kogi state, I would say no politician is worth the life of anyone.

Looking at it from other angle, you notice thuggery promote the activities of cultism in the state, which has been one of the major issue of kogi state……thuggery can never be a solution to any problem, rather it is a path way to destruction.

#say no to thuggery#

Kogi youth, unite and let’s make things work

Thurggery in kogi state; part 1

Political thuggery is an evil that must be avoided. The society is not convenient with the attitude and act of thurggery. Thug are gaining so much ground in kogi state on a daily basis. The number of thugs continue to increase. These are some of the problems caused by thuggery.

1. Thuggery cause conflicts in the society during election and campaign, and it brings shame to a nation.

2. Through thuggery many people have lost their life and properties

3. Thuggery affect the socio-economic and political development of a state

4. Thuggery reduce the social value of a community.

Going through all this, one will agree with me that thuggery is a disaster and one worst thing that could happen to a state.
